When Noah was born, doctors were not sure he would survive his first few days of life. He struggled through his first several months in NICU. He underwent open heart surgery at 2 months. Two eye surgeries at 2 years and 4 years old.
Eventually, doctors gave him an expected life span of 3 years. He beat it! Doctors then said perhaps 5 years. He beat it once again! At fourteen years old Noah had a second heart surgery to replace a mitral valve. He was diagnosed with Kabuki syndrome and immunodeficiency including low IgA, IgG. After these diagnosis, surgeries and God’s grace, doctors advised there was a good chance for a normal life expectancy.
Despite beating the odds, he was left with many developmental challenges and lingering health issues. Noah was a fighter! He fought for his life everyday. At the young age of 24, at the beginning of May 2022 Noah was diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma (a non-Hodgkin's blood cancer.) He fought for 5 months while undergoing chemotherapy with his usual tenacity, grit, heart, smile and determination. He past to the next external life in November of 2022.
Noah was a great fan of music, he was very passionate about it. Musical art boosted his confidence and increased his creativity and imagination.
From a very young age music became Noah's refuge. He listened to, sang and composed bilingual songs. He felt music at his deepest level and it excited as well as calmed him.
Noah was quite a showman, he loved to make others happy with his performances, he expressed his feelings in every single presentation.
Noah had a lot of empathy for others and his altruism was immense. He was able to feel another person's pain and wanted to take steps to help relieve their suffering.
A great desire to give back to his community. Through volunteering he matured as a person and his positive impact in the lives of many people, young and old, brought him personal satisfaction and he was always motivated to do more.
In Kendall Noah found real friends, people who loved him. He had the opportunity to meet many new people who also cared about improving their environment.
He attended Gloria Floyd Elementary in a South Florida Kendall neighborhood; he thrived in their special needs program. He went to Riviera Middle School where he made a lot of progress with his cognitive, social and speech skills. He graduated with a special diploma from Felix Varela High School where he met many good friends.
From the time he was 14 years old until the time he passed Noah attended and then volunteered at the Friendship Circle of Chabad of Kendall/Pinecrest. Here he was paired with his best friend Dylan who he loved dearly. Noah started out as a participant but moved up to become one of the counselors who was paired with a special needs child. He loved helping these kids and looked forward to attending as much as he could. He also attended the Alper JCC Miami located in Kendall. He started out as a camper and moved up to a counselor working in their aftercare, helping with activities for children.
His ambitions were to help others, to sing, to go out with Dylan, and to walk his dog Ryker. Noah cherished the everyday moments in life, this is what brought him the most joy and happiness. Noah was a simple young man, who prayed every night and believed in God. The spiritual purity with which he passed to the next eternal life set an example for all. This enabled him to be with God and guide us everyday so that one day like Noah we can be with God in God’s glory.
